Brucellosis — United States
Since 2010, there have been 6 incidents in which NYC hospital laboratories isolated a _Brucella_ species unexpectedly, requiring that steps be taken to address possible laboratory exposures. In April and May 2015, 2 laboratory-confirmed cases of _Brucella melitensis_ were reported to the NYC Health Department.
