In 2015, a total of 36 654 cholera cases have been recorded from 3 countries in the Americas: Cuba (65), Haiti (36 045, and the Dominican Republic (544). Haiti alone registered 98 percent of the total cases in the Region of the Americas.
In Cuba, as of epidemiological week (EW) 7 of 2016 [week ending 20 Feb 2016], no new cholera cases have been reported.
In the Dominican Republic in 2016, as of EW 7, there were 68 suspected cholera cases reported and no deaths.
