A local woman is undergoing rabies treatment after she was bitten by a beaver last week [week of 4 Jul 2016].
The 67-year-old woman was paddleboarding on Beaver Lake [Asheville, North Carolina] on [Fri 8 Jul 2016] at the time of the bite. She was taken to Mission for emergency treatment.
Police say the beaver was caught a day later and euthanized.
