The state Department of Public Health [Connecticut] will no longer pay for testing of rabid wild animals — such as raccoons — suspected of infecting domestic pets, but where there was no human exposure. DPH’s state laboratory will continue to provide and pay for rabies testing of any wild or domestic animal suspected of carrying rabies if humans have been exposed. The change went into effect on Fri 1 Jul 2016.
