E. coli — United Kingdom
The South West of England is “particularly affected” by an outbreak of a potentially deadly infection – which has so far resulted in 2 deaths. Public Health England is warning people to be aware of the _E. coli_ O157 risks, which appears to be connected to eating mixed salad leaves.
Figures for the South West of England specifically have not been released – but 2 people have died nationally as a result of the outbreak and there are 151 confirmed cases so far, with 144 of these in England, 6
