Japanese Encephalitis — India
Death of 14 children, aged between 2 and 15, in one fortnight in Malkangiri district [Odisha] has put the health authorities on tenterhooks. While it is suspected that the children might have died in Japanese encephalitis (JE), health officials claimed they were suffering from acute encephalitis syndrome (AES).
