Salmonella — Sweden
Since the beginning of May 2018, 13 cases of an unusual _Salmonella_ type (_S._ Typhimurium MLVA 2-17-NN-211) have been identified by the Public Health Authority’s microbial monitoring program, according to the Public Health Agency of Sweden (Folkhalsomyndigheten ).
The type has so far been identified in 7 counties in persons reported to be infected in Sweden. The sick people, 7 men and 6 women, are between 10 and 85 years old.
