As winter tightens its grip, producers in the Monaro [a plateau region of New South Wales] are still reeling from the effects of a wet summer, which paved the way for a footrot outbreak.
16 holdings in the South East Local Land Services region are in quarantine for the bacterial disease, with a further 32 properties quarantined across the state — including 7 in the Riverina [an agricultural region of New South Wales with an ample water supply].
