Avian Influenza H7N9 — Netherlands
In the ProMED posting http://promedmail.org/post/20160612.4278955, an association between LPAI H7N9 found in the Netherlands and in China was suggested. However, sequencing of the Dutch virus suggests a relation with wild-bird isolates in Europe.
On 8 Jun 2016 an outbreak of LPAI H7N9 was reported in Hiaure, The Netherlands, on a free-range chicken layer farm. Partial sequencing of HA and NA showed homology with viruses circulating in wild-birds in Europe. We would like to emphasize that
