Hantavirus — Brazil
The State Center for Health Surveillance (CEVS) today stated that a yellow fever case in the Candelria municipality was discarded as such. The Instituto Adolfo Lutz in Sao Paulo confirmed that case was a hantavirus [infection], an acute disease caused by a virus. In Brazil, hantavirus [infections] occur as cardiopulmonary syndromes.
