Hantavirus — Chile
The Regional Ministerial Health Secretariat [SEREMI] confirmed a new case of [a] hantavirus [infection] in La Araucania region.
The case is a 44-year-old farmer from the Victoria community who presented with the 1st symptoms of the disease on 20 Nov [2015] and was hospitalized yesterday [25 Nov 2015] in the hospital of that community, where a rapid test to detect hantaviruses was positive. The man was then transported to the Higueras Hospital in Talcahuano.
