Japanese Encephalitis — China
The [Taiwan] Centers for Disease Control (CDC) said Tuesday [24 Jul 2018] that 5 people in Taiwan were recently diagnosed with Japanese encephalitis, bringing the number of cases in the country so far this year [2018] to 31.
Kuo Hung-wei, deputy head of the CDC’s Epidemic Intelligence Center, said that in the period [15-21 Jul 2018], 5 people were confirmed as infected with the disease.
The patients, aged 34 to 56, were from Taoyuan’s Bade and Pingzhen districts, New Taipei’s Sanchong
