Rabies — United States
A total of 2 dogs from the Hydesville [Humboldt County, California] area were attacked by foxes that subsequently tested positive for rabies. Both dogs have been placed under 30-day, strict isolation quarantines. One of the incidents involved human exposures, with 2 people now receiving prophylactic treatment.
