Foodborne Illness — Kenya
The index case was initially reported on 20 Oct 2016 with the following complaints:
– headache
– abdominal pain
– diarrhea (black in colour)
– vomiting
– general malaise
There are 3 camels reported to have died to date. Only 1 was consumed (the 1st which was found dead on 19 Oct 2016).
Total patients affected are 117: female 78, male 39. There were no reported deaths.
Majority (61 percent) of those affected were above 5 years.
