A polio outbreak has been confirmed in Papua New Guinea’s Morobe province.
The World Health Organization says that this is the 1st time polio has been found in the country since 1996, and it comes 18 years after PNG was declared polio-free.
The WHO says a 6-year-old Morobe boy went to a health centre with lower limb weakness on 28 Apr 2018, and on [21 May 2018], he was confirmed to have polio.
