The NYPenn Chapter of the Alliance of Hazardous Materials Professionals

 

is offering an
CHMM / CHMP Exam Prep Course

immediately following the College and University Hazardous Waste Conference

on August 2 – 3, 2012
Location: The University of Vermont, 50 University Heights, Burlington, Vermont 05405 (directions)

Time: 8:00am to 5:00pm

 

Course Cost:

$650 – Early Bird Registration (before 6/15/12)
$750 – Regular Registration (after 6/15/12)
$1100 – Bring a Buddy Registration (register two people at the same time)

Instructor: Rich Cartwright, P.E., CHMM, CPIM – Former ACHMM Board Member
Cost includes course tuition, snacks, lunches, and a one year (2012) membership in the NYPenn Chapter of AHMP.

TOPICS COVERED INCLUDE:

  • The statutory and regulatory framework of environmental and hazardous materials management.
  • Compliance Standards and State-of-the-Art work practices on:
    • Hazardous Waste Treatment, Storage and Disposal;
    • Hazardous Material Storage;
    • Radioactive materials;
    • Workplace safety;
    • Packaging;
    • Spills;
    • Cleanup; and
    • Hazards assessment and communication;
  • Basic and applied hazardous materials management principles, controls and concepts
  • Science and technology of hazardous materials management;
  • Chemical and physical characteristics;
  • Sampling and analysis;
  • Biological effects of hazardous materials;
  • Toxicology; and
  • Geology/hydrology

WHO SHOULD ATTEND?

Experienced individuals such as technicians, engineers, scientists, facility supervisors and managers, and/or regulators, who have assigned duties or responsibilities related to management of hazardous materials and environmental, health and safety (EHS) responsibilities.

The CHMM course runs through Friday, Aug 3rd.

PLEASE NOTE: The CHMM exam is not being offered in conjunction with this review course. The CHMM exam is now offered via computer based testing locations across the country. To sit for an upcoming CHMM exam, you submit an application, along with the applicable fees, to the Institute of Hazardous Materials Managers (IHMM), prior to the exam.
