Fire crews used foam to douse a fire that broke out in a storage building at Safety-Kleen in Erie on Jan. 30. A used solvent that the company collects from area industry was burning in a building on the south end of the property, at 1606 Pittsburgh Ave. At 10:30 a.m., it was announced the fire was under control. One man was severely burned and was taken to the hospital, West Lake Fire Chief Rick Schau said. The fire posed no danger to the public, Schau said.
