Avian Influenza H5N8 -- South AfricaSpread [of avian influenza] amongst poultry has halted. Alan Winde, Minister of Economic Opportunities, today [9 Jan 2018] announced that no new cases of highly pathogenic avian influenza (HPAI) have been confirmed at previously uninfected poultry farms in the province since 31 Oct 2017.
