-- United States_Candida auris_ is an emerging, multidrug-resistant yeast causing invasive infections globally but not reported in the USA before 2016. In August 2016, the Chicago Department of Public Health was notified of 2 patients with _C. auris_ infections who were treated at the same acute care hospital (ACH) and long-term acute care hospital (LTACH). We investigated possible health care transmission to guide control measures.Cases were defined as _C. auris_ isolated from clinical cultures. Read more [...]

BIO: Richard T. Cartwright PE, CHMM, CPIM* is the Senior Vice President responsible for remediation technology marketing at MECx, LP.He has an MBA in Operations and Logistics Management from Indiana University, a BES in Chemical Engineering from Brigham Young University, and recently completed a Professional Certificate Program in Project Management at the University of Buffalo.
