Avian Influenza — Worldwide/Unknown
During routine baggage checks in the Vienna-Schwechat airport, the Austrian Customs discovered, on 6 Jun 2013, a consignment of smuggled birds (of different species of parrots and birds of paradise). The 60 birds were packed, in tubes, into 2 travel bags. The destination was the Czech Republic. The birds were brought immediately to the quarantine station of the Schonbrunn Zoo [Vienna].
