Lassa Fever — Guinea
The World Health Organization (WHO) has reported the 2nd confirmed Lassa fever case and fatality in the West African country of Guinea.
The 1st case was notified on 8 May 2021 at the Yomou prefecture hospital, a resident of Yomou prefecture [see Lassa fever – West Africa (09): Guinea (YO) http://promedmail.org/post/20210518.8367530]. The patient was also confirmed to be positive for COVID-19 and later died. Contact tracing of 88 people was done, and no secondary cases were found.
