White nose syndrome — United States
The Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife [WDFW] announced the white-nose syndrome, a typically fatal disease for hibernating bats, has made its debut for the 1st time in Washington east of the Cascade Mountains, near Cle Elum [Kittitas County]. It was discovered after a landowner sent 4 dead bats in for testing.
